Top 10 New Midsize SUVs to Launch in India by 2026

The Indian midsize SUV segment is gearing up for a major shake-up with several new and exciting models set to debut by 2026. Car manufacturers like Mahindra, Tata Motors, Nissan, Maruti Suzuki, and Renault are all set to flood the market with their latest offerings.

Here's a look at the top upcoming midsize SUVs that will soon make their way to Indian roads.

1. Nissan Midsize SUV

Nissan’s upcoming C-SUV is expected to be unveiled on 7 October, with the official launch slated for 2026. While it shares its dimensions and underpinnings with the Renault Duster, it will sport a different design language and offer a range of advanced features like a triple-screen dashboard. The C-SUV is expected to feature petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains, and it will enter the fiercely competitive midsize SUV market currently dominated by models like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

2. Tata Sierra EV

Tata Sierra EV is set to debut by Diwali 2025 (around October-November), with an estimated price range of Rs 25-30 lakh. Likely built on the new Acti.ev platform, it will share battery packs with the Tata Harrier EV. The Sierra EV will boast a modern design, featuring a panoramic sunroof and dual digital displays.

3. Tata Sierra ICE

Tata Motors is all set to bring back the legendary Tata Sierra SUV. This time, the SUV will be launched as a 2025 electric vehicle, taking advantage of Tata's new Acti.ev+ platform. Expect high-end features such as a triple-screen dashboard and a 4-seater lounge variant. The Sierra EV is expected to offer a range of up to 500km on a single charge, making it a major contender in the electric SUV space.

On the flip side, the Tata Sierra ICE is slated for launch in the first quarter of 2026. This will be a lifestyle premium SUV, taking on competitors like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Powered by Tata’s new 1.5L turbo petrol engine and the 2.0L turbo diesel, the Sierra ICE will offer impressive performance and a commanding presence on the road.

4. Skoda Kushaq Facelift

Skoda Kushaq facelift is set to arrive in late 2025 or early 2026. It will bring several exciting updates to this popular midsize SUV. The exterior will feature a redesigned front fascia with a new grille, headlights, and bumper, along with updated LED DRLs and connected tail lamps at the rear. Inside, a new panoramic sunroof and upgraded screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster will be on offer.

The Kushaq facelift will also introduce advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including features like lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control. Powertrain options will remain the same, with the 1.0L and 1.5L turbo petrol engines.

5. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle, the e Vitara, will make its Indian debut in the second quarter of 2026, after a delay from its original September 2025 launch date, caused by a shortage of rare earth materials. The SUV will first be available in Europe in January 2026.

Built on a new scalable platform, the e Vitara will offer two battery options - 48.9kWh and 61.1kWh, both powering a front-mounted electric motor. The top-spec model will provide a range of up to 500km on a single charge and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in under 9 seconds. It also supports fast charging, with the larger battery reaching 0 to 80% charge in just 50 minutes.

Built on the same platform as the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, it marks Toyota's entry into the midsize EV segment, though its launch timeline is still uncertain. Production for both the Urban Cruiser BEV and the e Vitara will take place at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant.

Expected to debut in Europe in late 2025, the Urban Cruiser BEV will offer two battery options - 49 kWh with front-wheel drive (144 hp) and 61 kWh with both front- and all-wheel drive (174 hp and 184 hp, respectively). The SUV is expected to deliver over 500 km of range per charge and features DC fast-charging for quicker charging times.

7. Next-Gen Kia Seltos

The all-new Kia Seltos is set to make its global debut in November 2025, with a planned India launch in early 2026. This updated version will be bigger and more spacious, showcasing refreshed styling on both the front and rear. While it will continue with the current petrol and diesel engine options, Kia has confirmed that a hybrid powertrain will be introduced in 2027.

8. Volkswagen Taigun Facelift

Volkswagen Taigun will get a mid-life update before the end of this financial year, featuring cosmetic changes and added features. The Taigun facelift will include a new front grille, updated bumper, and revised headlamps with LED DRLs. It will also come with Level 2 ADAS, offering features like adaptive cruise control and lane assist. A panoramic sunroof may be available.

The SUV will continue with the 1.0L and 1.5L turbo petrol engines, with transmission options including a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and 7-speed DSG.

9. New-Gen Renault Duster

The third-gen Renault Duster is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2026, likely in January. Built on the CMF-B modular platform, it will come with a 1.3L turbo petrol engine and a host of advanced features like ventilated front seats and wireless phone charging. The new-gen Duster will also offer hybrid engine options by the end of 2026 or early 2027.

10. Honda Midsize Electric SUV

Honda is preparing to launch its first midsize electric SUV in India, with an expected release between 2026 and 2027, possibly in the first half of 2026. This SUV will be an entirely new model, developed specifically for the Indian market, and will not share the platform with the Elevate. Built at Honda's Rajasthan plant, it will target competitors like the Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Curvv EV, offering a fresh electric option in the growing midsize SUV segment.
