7 Major Compact SUVs Ready to Hit Indian Roads Soon - From Petrol to EV Options

Indian car buyers are set to get spoiled for choice in the compact SUV segment. Whether you want a powerful diesel, a city-friendly petrol, or the latest EV with smart features, 2025-26 will bring it all.

Here’s a quick look at the 7 top compact SUVs that are ready to launch in India very soon:

1. Mahindra Thar Facelift 2025

Mahindra Thar facelift 2025 is all set to launch on October 2, 2025, with subtle yet practical updates. While it continues to retain its iconic rugged design, the SUV now gets new 4x2 RWD variants with alloy wheels. For convenience, Mahindra has added a rear camera, rear wiper, and defogger, improving everyday usability. Inside, the cabin now features the brand’s twin-peaks logo on the steering wheel, giving it a refreshed identity without losing its original charm. These Thar 2025 facelift changes make it a stronger contender in the compact SUV space without losing its off-road DNA.

2. Mahindra Bolero Neo Facelift

Both Mahindra Bolero Neo facelift and the Mahindra Bolero facelift are set to launch on October 6, 2025, shortly after the Thar. The standard Bolero retains its rugged, boxy appeal, now enhanced with a black exterior finish, redesigned bumper, updated wheels, and a new touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, powered by the reliable 1.5L diesel engine. Meanwhile, the Bolero Neo facelift adds more premium touches, including a larger 10.25-inch infotainment display, an updated front grille, and a more powerful 1.5L turbo-diesel engine delivering 100hp and 260Nm of torque.

3. Tata Punch Facelift 2025

Tata Punch facelift 2025 will feature a few subtle updates to its exterior, such as redesigned bumpers, a new grille, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin will sport a fresh two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a digital instrument cluster, and upgraded trims. While these changes bring a more refined look and feel, the engine options will remain unchanged, including the 1.2-litre petrol and petrol-CNG variants. The launch of the Tata Punch facelift 2025 is anticipated for November 2025.

4. Hyundai Venue Facelift 2025

Hyundai Venue facelift is set to launch in November 2025. It will bring a completely refreshed exterior and a modern, feature-packed cabin. Hyundai Venue 2025 features include advanced tech inspired by Hyundai’s larger SUVs like the Creta and Alcazar. For the first time in its segment, the compact SUV will offer Level 2 ADAS. Engine options are expected to remain the same, with the familiar petrol and diesel choices. These Hyundai Venue 2025 redesign features put it ahead of rivals, while the familiar 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo-petrol, and 1.5L diesel engines continue to power the SUV.

5. Mahindra XUV3XO EV

Mahindra is aggressively working on electrification, and one of the biggest launches will be the Mahindra XUV3XO EV. It is expected to replace the XUV400 EV and will be offered with two battery pack options, targeting a range of around 400 km per charge. As part of upcoming Mahindra SUVs, this model will rival the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Kia Syros EV. The expected launch of the XUV 3XO EV is in late 2025 or early 2026.

6. Kia Syros EV

Kia’s next big launch for India will be the Syros EV, positioned below the EV6. Designed for Indian buyers, it will combine global styling with competitive pricing. With a 350-370 km driving range, connected tech, and advanced safety features, it will directly challenge the Mahindra XUV3XO EV and Tata’s electric SUVs. Launch is expected in early 2026.

7. Hyundai Inster EV

Hyundai Inster EV will be Hyundai’s answer to the Tata Punch EV. This futuristic-looking compact SUV will offer two battery pack options with over 300 km range. Premium features like a fully digital cockpit, 64-colour ambient lighting, ADAS, and wireless charging make it one of the most tech-loaded EVs in its class. The India launch is likely in early 2026.
