Tata Motors will launch the new Sierra lifestyle SUV in ICE and EV avatar before the end of this fiscal. The Sierra ICE version will arrive first in November 2025, while the all-electric Tata Sierra is scheduled to be launched by January 2026. A possible revealing in December 2025 can’t be ignored.
The Tata Sierra EV is currently undergoing final round of testing, and has been spotted across different cities in India. The electric version of the lifestyle SUV will be designed on the brand’s Acti.ev+ platform, which is a modified version of the Acti.ev platform.
The lifestyle SUV is expected to share the powertrains with Harrier EV, which is available with 65kWh and 75kWh LFP battery packs. While the Harrier EV is a rear-wheel-drive SUV with an option of AWD set-up, the Sierra EV will come with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The top-end model could get a dual-motor AWD set-up. The electric SUV is expected to offer a realistic range of around 450-500km on a single charge.
The new Sierra EV will measure around 4.3 meters in length and will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV. It will challenge the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV. It is estimated to be priced around Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Tata Sierra electric SUV will come with a triple screen dashboard comprising an infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display and a co-occupant entertainment screen. In terms of features, the EV will get panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, ventilated front and rear seats, dual-zone climate control, all-wheel disc brakes, LED lighting system, LEVEL 2 ADAS, 360-degree surround view camera and front parking sensors.
