The much-anticipated next-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire is set to make its debut soon. Scheduled for launch in early November 2024, this notchback sedan will feature an updated design, a host of new features and a more efficient engine. Here’s a detailed look at what the new Dzire has to offer.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to hit the market on November 11, 2024, just in time for the festive season. Maruti Suzuki is all set to compete with popular subcompact sedans such as the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and the upcoming Honda Amaze.
Upcoming Dzire will receive significant exterior updates, giving it a fresh, modern look. The front will showcase a redesigned grille with vertical elements, accompanied by updated LED DRLs and headlamp clusters. The alloy wheels are expected to feature a new design and the rear will sport LED tail lights and a shark-fin antenna.
Inside, it is set to receive a modern, premium makeover. With a dual-tone black and beige interior, the new Dzire will include a multi-layered dashboard and improved upholstery. Some of the expected segment-leading features include:
- 360-degree camera
- 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Automatic climate control
- Cruise control
- Flat-bottom steering wheel
- Semi-digital instrument cluster
Maruti is expected to equip it with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, rear parking sensors and a 3-point seatbelt for all passengers. Additionally, the 360-degree camera will offer drivers a complete view of their surroundings, making it the first in its segment to offer this feature.
It will be powered by the new 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine, which Maruti Suzuki introduced in the latest Swift. This three-cylinder engine delivers 80bhp and 112Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual or automated manual transmission (AMT). The new engine is expected to offer enhanced fuel efficiency, which will appeal to both private buyers and fleet operators. A CNG variant is also likely to be introduced at a later date, given the increasing demand for cost-effective fuel options.
We expect the prices to start slightly higher than the outgoing model, with a potential increase ranging from Rs 44,000 to Rs 1.12 lakh. The current Dzire is priced between Rs 6.56 lakh and Rs 9.38 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the significant upgrades in design, features and safety, the updated pricing seems justified.
