Mahindra sold over 60,000 SUVs in March 2026 55064 Hyundai's sold last month JSW MG Motor India posted 19.5 per cent YoY sales growth
Despite facing global challenges, including the oil crisis due to the Iran war, the Indian auto industry has posted positive sales growth in the month of March 2026. Car manufacturers have released their sales numbers for the March 2026 month, and most brands posted excellent year-on-year sales growth. Hyundai has achieved an impressive 8.5% YoY sales growth, JSW MG Motor India posted 19 percent YoY growth.

Tata Motors has reported domestic passenger vehicle sales of 66,192 units in March 2026 as against 51,616 units in the same month last year. The company has reported a massive 28 per cent year-on-year sales growth. The total passenger vehicle sales, including international business, stool at 66,971 units in March 2026, that’s again 29 per cent YoY increase.
The company sold a total of 9,494 electric vehicles, domestic + exports, in March 2026 compared to 5,353 units a year ago, registering a YoY growth of 77 percent.

Mahindra & Mahindra has reported a total sales of 99,969 vehicles in March 2026, registering a YoY sales growth of 21 percent. The company sold 60,272 SUVs in the domestic market last month compared to 48,048 units in March 2025, registering an impressive YoY sales growth of 25 percent. Overall UV sales, including exports stood at 62,109 units.
Mahindra has closed the FY26 with its highest-ever volumes in both SUV and light commercial vehicle categories. The company reported all-time high sales of 6,60,276 SUVs and 2,89,597 LCVs, registering YoY growth of 20 per cent and 13 per cent, respectively.

The Korean brand has achieved total Q4 sales of 2,08,275 units in the January to March 2026 period, registering a positive YoY sales growth of 8.7%. This includes domestic Q4 sales of 1,66,578 units with an impressive 8.5 percent growth. This is the brand’s highest-ever quarterly tally for domestic sales since inception and Q4 export contribution of 41,697 units (+9.4% YoY).
In the month of March 2026, Hyundai reported a total sales of 69,004 units. The company sold 55,064 vehicles in the domestic market and exported 13,940 vehicles. This marks HMIL’s highest-ever tally for domestic sales for the month of March since its inception.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has sold 37,194 vehicles in March 2026 as compared to 30,043 units in the same month last year, registering a YoY sales growth of 24 percent. In the domestic market, the company dispatched 35125 units to dealerships last month compared to 28373 units in March 2025, up by 24 percent. Its exports also increased by 24 percent from 1670 in March 2025 to 2069 vehicles in March 2026.
The company has reported a total sales of 4,06,081 vehicles in FY25-26 compared to 3,37,148 units sold in FY24-25, recording a YoY sales growth of 20 percent.

Kia India has reported its best-ever sales performance for the month of March 2026. The company sold 29,112 vehicles in March 2026 as against 25,525 units in the same month last year, registering a YoY sales growth of 14.05 percent.
The company has also achieved its highest-ever Q1 sales, with 84,316 units sold between January-March 2026. This shows a healthy 11.56 per cent YoY sales growth compared to 75,576 units in Q1, 2025. According to the Atul Sood, Senior VP - Sales & Marketing, Kia India, the strong performance was driven by consistent demand across models. The Kia Seltos continues to anchor brand’s growth, clocking over 10,000 units in monthly sales.
JSW MG Motor India reported a Year-on-Year sales growth of 19 percent in March 2026 compared to the same month in 2025. The company registered a total sales of 6528 vehicles, both Internal Combustion Engine and New Energy Vehicles.
JSW MG Motor India has announced a price increase of up to 2 percent across its portfolio, effective April 1, 2026. This adjustment is intended to partially offsetting the impact of continuously rising input costs. The company has also raised the prices of the MG SELECT vehicles, including Cyberster and M9 MPV by up to 7 per cent.

Skoda Auto India reported its highest-ever quarterly sales in Q1, between January-March 2026. The company sold 20,028 vehicles in last 3 months as against 17,138 units in the same period last year, reporting a year-on-year sales growth of 17 per cent. The Kylaq played an important role in Skoda’s strong growth trajectory. The small SUV has recently crossed the 50,000 sales milestone.
Skoda aims to achieve 12 per cent growth in the FY27. The company has recently introduced the new Kushaq, and is set to introduce multiple new products including the Slavia facelift.
