Mahindra’s Next Electric SUV to Rival Tata Harrier EV – Launch Details

Mahindra BE.07 will rival the Vinfast VF7 and Tata Harrier EV. It might share its powertrain options with the XEV 9e.

Mahindra & Mahindra currently sells three born-electric SUVs based on its INGLO platform in India, including the BE6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S. The next in the lineup is the production-ready version of the Mahindra BE.07 concept, which is scheduled to launch in 2027. The electric SUV is currently doing test rounds, and multiple test mules have revealed a handful of design and interior details.

Futuristic Design

Measuring around 4.6 metres in length, the Mahindra BE.07 is likely to remain true to its concept. Upfront, the EV will feature sharply designed LED projector headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs, a sealed-off grille, a sporty front bumper with sleek air vents on the centre section and LED fog lamps. Spy shots have also revealed multiple front parking sensors, an ADAS sensor and radar, along with an integrated front camera.

The side profile might feature turbine-styled 18-19-inch alloy wheels, frameless doors, flush-type door handles and a sloping roofline. At the rear, it sports a short rear windshield, a larger tailgate and vertically placed LED taillamps.

Premium Interior & Features

Interior details of the Mahindra BE.07 are still under wraps. However, the electric SUV is likely to offer cabin layout and features similar to the XEV 9E and XEV 9e. Expected features include a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, a triple screen setup for infotainment and instrumental functionalities, dual zone automatic climate control, an air purifier, HUD (Head-Up Display), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a powered tailgate, a 540-degree camera, powered boss mode, Level 2 ADAS and more.

Sharing Powertrains With XEV 9S

The Mahindra BE.07 is expected to share its powertrains with the XEV 9S, which is available with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery pack options. The smallest 59kWh battery pack version offers a claimed MIDC range of 542km, while the 70kWh and 79kWh battery pack variants deliver 600km and 679km of claimed MIDC range, respectively.

Segment Positioning

In terms of positioning, the Mahindra BE 07 electric SUV will sit a segment above the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki eVitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser eBella. It’s likely to rival models such as the Vinfast VF7 and Tata Harrier EV.
