7-Seater Renault Duster SUV to launch in India by 2027. Hybrid powertrain, premium features and spacious cabin expected.
Renault is developing a new three-row premium SUV for the Indian market, based on the third-generation Duster. The model is currently undergoing test rounds, and has been caught on camera multiple occasions with semi-heavy camouflage. The 7-seater Renault Duster is slated to launch in 2027 to challenge models like Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the upcoming 7-seater SUVs from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia and Toyota.
Spy shots reveal that the 2027 Renault Duster 7-seater will feature a larger rear quarter glass, an extended rear overhang and a longer roofline than the standard Duster. However, its overall proportion and design language appear similar the global-spec Renault Boreal.
Design elements such as the familiar grille, LED headlamps with eyebrow-shaped DRLs (daytime running lights), C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, body cladding, rear bumper with a contrasting silver surround and triangular LED taillamps connected by a light bar could be borrowed from the 5-seater Duster.
Dimensionally, the 7-seater Renault Duster is expected to similar in size to the Renault Boreal, which was unveiled last year. The Boreal measures 4,556mm in length, 1,841mm in width and 1,650mm in height. It sits on a 2,702mm long wheelbase and offers a 213mm high ground clearance.

The 7-seater Renault Duster is likely to share engine options with the standard Duster, which is currently available with a 1.0L turbo petrol and a 1.3L turbo petrol engines. The 1.0L engine produces power worth 100bhp and 160Nm, while the larger 1.3L gasoline motor pushes out 163bhp and 280Nm.
Similar to the Duster, its three-row version will be offered with a 1.8L strong hybrid powertrain option. The 109bhp petrol engine is paired with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery pack. This setup delivers a combined power output of 160bhp and 172Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
