Citroen is rolling up its sleeves to unveil its all-new Basalt in India. The coupe SUV is scheduled to debut on August 2, and the price announcement will be made a few days after its unveiling. Ahead of its official arrival, many details have surfaced online, hinting at its new design language, range of tech features, and performance. Let's have a look at the upcoming Citroen Basalt coupe SUV.
The French automaker will use the distinctive sloping roof and stylish design for the new Basalt, distinguishing it from other Citroen cars available on sale in India. However, the upcoming coupe SUV will share some exterior design elements with the C3 Aircross.
Its front fascia will carry LED DRLs with a chrome bridge, featuring the Citroen logo in the centre. There will be projector headlamps with the smoked-out effect. Other exterior features will include a sloping roofline, dual-tone alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches, shark-fin antenna, and blacked-out ORVMs.
With the launch of the Basalt Coupe SUV, Citroen will introduce a premium-looking cabin layout with more features than the C3 Aircross. It is expected to come with a modern interior, new seat upholstery, and dual digital displays for the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment and the 7-inch instrument console. Other amenities include automatic climate control, wireless Android and Apple CarPlay, push start/stop, cruise control, tilt & telescopic adjustable steering wheel, and wireless charging.
The upcoming Basalt Coupe SUV will be powered by the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This unit can be paired with both manual and automatic transmissions. The power output of this engine stands at 108 bhp and 205 Nm of torque, however, for the Basalt's engine, the state of tune can go higher.
Hyundai sold a total of 17,016 units of the Crete in April 2025, reporting a year-on-year growth of 10.2 percent.
