Honda City Facelift Testing Begins; Launch in 2026

City facelift spied testing in Brazil India launch expected by Diwali 2026 To receive cosmetic design and interior changes.

We informed you earlier that Honda will give another facelift to the 5th-gen City sedan in 2026. The company will launch the next-generation City sedan in 2028, and the update will be given to keep the existing model fresh in the market. Ahead of the official debut, the 2027 Honda City facelift has been spotted testing in Brazil. It is likely to receive subtle design and interior changes along with a longer list of features.

Honda City Facelift - Top Changes

The Brazilian media reports that the new City facelift will be launched in the second half of 2026. While India launch is yet to be announced, media reports suggest that the launch could take place during festive season before Diwali. The spotted model was heavily covered in thick cloth. It is expected that the new City facelift could get a revised front grille, new bumpers, re-worked headlamps and tail-lamps, and new set of alloy wheels.

The report stated that the City will get an updated bumper with sportier lines, new front headlamps, and an updated grille with sportier lines. The dimensions of the City sedan is not likely to receive any significant changes; a few centimetres could be increased due to the addition of the new bumpers.

The cabin is likely to receive minimal changes in the form of new trim pieces and upholstery. The overall layout and equipment list are likely to remain unchanged. We expect the sedan could get a larger touchscreen infotainment unit along with an optional 360-degree surround view camera.

No Mechanical Changes

The new Honda City facelift will continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired to either a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic unit. This engine is capable of producing 121hp and 145Nm of torque. The City e:HEV hybrid will continue to be on sale, featuring a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine that offers a combined power output of 126hp.
