Hyundai Motor India Limited is gearing up to introduce the new Exter on July 10 in India. While the brand has already revealed the exterior design of the upcoming micro-SUV, details about the interior had been scarce. But now, the company has officially shared the images of the Exter giving us a clear idea of the cabin and equipment on offer.
The official images showcase a new cabin for the Exter with elements borrowed from other Hyundai models. The infotainment system and the steering wheel are the same as the Grand i10 NIOS and the Aura. New elements on the inside include a new all-black theme and bushed aluminum trim on the dashboard.
The images also reveal details about the Exter’s feature list. The micro-SUV will get a fully digital instrument cluster similar to the new Verna’s along with Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech. The infotainment system which features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay gets touch as well as physical controls. Other key features in the Exter will include wireless charger, auto climate control, an electric sunroof, ambient lighting, and more.
The new Exter will be powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 82 bhp with 115 Nm of max torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. Hyundai will also offer a CNG variant upon launch.
Hyundai has already started accepting bookings for the Exter for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The brand will likely reveal the micro-SUV’s pricing at the launch next month.
The Exter will rival the likes of the Citroen C3, Maruti Ignis, and the Tata Punch in India.
