Hyundai has taken the covers off the all-electric Staria MPV at the Brussels Motor Show. Called the Hyundai Staria Electric, this is the first fully electric version of the brand’s large people-mover. It will go on sale in Korea and Europe in the first half of 2026, with other markets expected to follow later.

Hyundai Staria Electric is powered by a large 84kWh battery pack. It uses a front-mounted electric motor that produces 215bhp and 350Nm of torque. As per WLTP figures, the electric MPV offers a claimed driving range of up to 400km on a single charge.

One of the highlights is its 800V electrical architecture. This allows fast DC charging from 10 to 80 per cent in around 20 minutes under ideal conditions. An 11kW AC charger is also offered for home or public charging use.
The electric Staria keeps the same long and boxy shape as the petrol and diesel versions. This design focuses on space and easy access. At launch, Hyundai will offer two seating options; a seven-seat Luxury variant and a nine-seat Wagon version.
Depending on the seating layout, boot space ranges from 435 litres to 1,303 litres with all seats in place, making it suitable for family and commercial use.
While the overall shape remains unchanged, the Staria Electric gets a few EV-specific updates. These include a closed-off front grille, new detailing, and a horizontal LED lighting signature. The charging port is placed at the front, making it easier to access charging points.
Inside, the Hyundai Staria Electric offers a flat floor and high roofline for better headroom and movement between rows. The dashboard gets two 12.3-inch screens – one for the digital instrument cluster and one for infotainment. The system runs Hyundai’s latest ccNC software and supports over-the-air updates. Hyundai has also retained physical buttons for key functions, which should improve ease of use.
Hyundai has confirmed sales in Korea and Europe, but there is no official update on an India launch yet. Given the limited demand for large MPVs and EV charging challenges, the Hyundai Staria Electric’s entry into the Indian market remains uncertain for now.
