Hyundai to launch Exter and Verna facelift in H1, 2026 The company could launch the next-gen Creta by festive season
The Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch 3 new cars in the Indian market before the end of this year. The company will launch facelifts of the Exter and Verna sedan, both has been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The next big launch from Hyundai in India will be an all-new SUV, which is expected to arrive in our market by festive season before Diwali. If media reports are to be believed, the next model is expected to be an all-new sub-4 meter SUV based on the new-gen Bayon that has been spotted testing numerous times. However, we believe that the company could introduce the third-generation Creta SUV.
The Hyundai Verna facelift will come with subtle design and interior changes; however, engine choices will remain the same. The design changes will be made to the front and rear, featuring redesigned headlamps and tail-lights, revised grille and bumpers. Inside the cabin, the sedan will get a dual curved screens which we have recently seen on the new Venue compact SUV. The Verna facelift could also get a longer list of features. The engine options will include a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, a CVT automatic and a 7-speed DCT.
The new Exter facelift will also receive design and interior changes, and it will come with Hyundai’s next-gen infotainment system. It will be the first mass-market model jin India to feature the Android Auto Operating System (AAOS). This system will come with a 12.9-inch touchscreen and a 9.9-inch digital instrument console. It will continue to be offered with existing engine options, including the 1.2L petrol and CNG options.
The next-gen Hyundai Creta is expected to be revealed before the end of 2027. The spy images confirm that the new SUV will ride on a longer wheelbase, which could be around 2690mm. It will grow in size, and could measure around 4.5 meters in length, and will be wider and taller than the outgoing model. The new-gen Hyundai Creta will be built on the global K3 platform instead of the SP2 architecture. The next-gen Creta will carry a more boxy, squarer shape instead of the roundish profile.
The spy images confirmed the presence of electric Boss Mode. Another welcome addition in terms of safety and comfort is the availability of adjustable headrests for all three rear passengers. It is expected to get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. The next-gen Hyundai Creta will retain its engine options, including a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel. Adding to it, the SUV will also get an all-new strong hybrid engine.
