Kia Carens Clavis EV set to launch in India at an expected price of Rs 16-24.5 lakh. Competing with electric SUVs like Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Curvv EV, Kia's 7-seater EV offers space and performance. The Carens Clavis EV promises up to 490 km range, packed with top-tier features for families.
Kia Carens Clavis EV, a highly anticipated 7-seater electric MPV, is expected to launch in India on July 15, 2025. While the official pricing announcement will coincide with the launch, t will face stiff competition from other electric SUVs and MPVs that have already made their mark in the Indian market.

While the Kia Carens Clavis EV doesn't have a direct competitor in the 7-seater electric MPV segment, it will compete with popular electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE.05, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara.
The Carens Clavis EV is expected to be priced competitively in the market, considering its rivals' pricing.
Based on the price of similar electric SUVs and MPVs, we expect the Carens Clavis EV to start around Rs 16-18 lakh (ex-showroom). This price point would place it in a similar range to the Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV, which are priced in the Rs 20-25 lakh range, depending on the variant.
Higher-end variants of the Kia Carens Clavis EV could reach up to Rs 24.50 lakh, competing with more premium electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Mahindra BE.05, which are also expected to be priced in this range.
The final price will likely be influenced by factors such as battery size, trim levels, and features.
Kia Carens Clavis EV will come with a 51.4 kWh battery pack, paired with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. This configuration will deliver an impressive 490km range on a single charge, based on MIDC (Part 1 + Part 2) standards. Additionally, a lower-spec version with a 42 kWh battery pack will offer a claimed range of around 400km.
The design of the Carens Clavis EV is quite similar to its ICE versions, though with some EV-specific changes. It features a blanked-off grille with a charging port and aero-optimised wheels for better efficiency. It also sports 3-pod LED headlights, connected LED tail-lights, and a faux-silver element on the bumper.
Inside, the cabin mirrors the ICE model but with a dual-tone white and black interior scheme. The EV will be available in both 6- and 7-seat layouts, with the 6-seat variant offering captain seats in the second row. It also comes with dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and the driver's instrument console.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is equipped with top-of-the-line features, including:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Wireless phone charger
- Automatic climate control
- Ventilated front seats
- Vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging
For safety, the MPV will come with six airbags, 360-degree surround view camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and LEVEL 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).
While official bookings will start on the launch day, some Kia dealers have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the Clavis EV.
