Kia has officially announced that its smallest electric SUV, EV2 will reveal in concept avatar on the occasion of Kia EV Day on February 27, 2025. The Kia EV2 is scheduled to be introduced in Europe in January 2026. The Korean brand has also released teaser images of the concept. Ahead of the debut, a render based on the spy images hit the Internet revealing the possible design.
The EV2 is designed to be an affordable electric vehicle that offers high performance, making it more accessible to wider audience. The teaser and spy images reveal that the electric SUV has a sleek design inspired by the latest Kia EVs.
If reports are to be believed, the Kia EV2 electric SUV will offer a range of up to 450-500km on a single charge. It will support fast charging with battery expected to achieve 10% to 80% charging in around 30 minutes. The electric SUV is likely to receive latest infotainment systems and driver-assistance technologies.
The EV2 compact electric SUV has been spotted testing numerous times, revealing its design and features. The small EV will have aerodynamic styling with is aimed at reducing air resistance and enhancing battery efficiency. The electric SUV comes with modern LED headlights and tail-lights with resemblance to bigger Kia EVs including the EV9. There is a connected LED bar running across the width, while the lower bumper has silver skid plate.
The side profile reveals a boxy design with flush-type door handles and flared wheel arches with black plastic cladding. The electric SUV comes with aerodynamically optimized wheels.
The Kia EV2 is expected to come with minimalist yet functional interior. It is likely to get a large touchscreen infotainment unit with multiple connectivity options, a large digital instrument console, a climate control, an electric sunroof, ventilated seats and LED lighting system.
In the European market, the new Kia EV2 will challenge the likes of the Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe. Kia believes that an affordable and efficient electric vehicle will lead to faster adoption of electric mobility.
