New Mahindra SUVs, Pickups and EVs Coming Soon

Mahindra plans 16 new launches in India by 2031. The upcoming range includes SUVs, a lifestyle pickup and electric models. Thar facelift, Vision S, Scorpio Lifestyler and BE 07 are among the key launches.

Mahindra is preparing a major expansion of its product range in India, with new SUVs, a lifestyle pickup and electric models planned for the coming years. The company is targeting 16 new launches in India by 2031, with SUVs and EVs expected to remain at the centre of its strategy.

Among the upcoming models are the Thar facelift, Vision S, Scorpio Lifestyler and BE 07. These products will allow Mahindra to strengthen its presence across compact SUVs, off-roaders, lifestyle pickups and electric SUVs.

1. New Mahindra Thar Facelift

The three-door Mahindra Thar is set to receive a major update, with the facelift expected to bring several design and feature changes inspired by the larger Thar Roxx. Spy images suggest that the updated Thar will get a new double-stacked six-slot grille, circular LED projector headlights and a more modern cabin. A 10.25-inch HD touchscreen and digital instrument cluster are also expected.

Mahindra could also add features such as Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control and door-mounted power window controls. The engine range is expected to remain unchanged. The Thar facelift could continue with the 1.5-litre diesel with rear-wheel drive, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel with four-wheel drive and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

2. Mahindra Vision S Compact SUV

The Vision S will preview a new compact SUV based on Mahindra's NU_IQ platform. The model has a boxy design with rugged styling and is expected to sit in the sub-four-metre SUV segment. The concept features pixel-style LED lighting, thick body cladding and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. It also has a 2,665mm wheelbase, which should help create a spacious cabin.

The production version is expected to get petrol and diesel engines. Mahindra could also introduce electric and hybrid versions of the SUV later. The Vision S is also expected to be linked to the Scorpio nameplate, although its final production name has not been confirmed.

3. Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Pickup

The Scorpio Lifestyler will bring Mahindra into the lifestyle pickup segment with a new dual-cab model based on the Scorpio N's ladder-frame platform. The pickup will compete with models such as the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. It has already been shown in Valley, Reef and Trail editions with different exterior designs.

The Scorpio Lifestyler gets a rugged body with thick cladding, inverted L-shaped DRLs and a functional rear cargo bed. It is expected to use the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engines. Transmission options could include a six-speed manual and six-speed torque-converter automatic, while four-wheel drive is also expected. Mahindra has confirmed that the pickup will launch by April 2027, with the starting price expected to be below Rs 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

4. Mahindra BE 07 Electric SUV

The BE 07 will be another major addition to Mahindra's electric SUV range. It will be the brand's fourth Born Electric model based on the INGLO platform. The electric SUV will sit between the BE 6 Sporteq and XEV 9e and is expected to compete with models such as the Tata Harrier EV.

The BE 07 will feature a traditional SUV design with frameless doors and flush-fitting door handles. It is expected to be available with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery packs. A front-mounted electric motor is expected, while higher-spec versions could offer a real-world range of more than 500km on a single charge.
