Kia Syros EV – 5 Big Details Revealed

Kia Syros EV could get two battery pack options. Claimed range may go up to 520 km. Lifetime battery warranty is also expected.

The upcoming Kia Syros EV is expected to be Kia's most affordable electric SUV in India. Ahead of its official launch, several key details have surfaced online, revealing what the new EV could offer.

While Kia India has not officially confirmed these specifications yet, the leaked information suggests the Syros EV will share several components with the brand's existing electric models while offering a few advantages of its own.

1. Two Battery Pack Options Expected

The Kia Syros EV is likely to be offered with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs. These are expected to be the same battery options already available in the Kia Carens Clavis EV and Hyundai Creta Electric, helping Kia keep costs under control while offering proven technology.

2. Claimed Range Could Reach 520 km

Although it may use the same batteries as the Carens Clavis EV, the Syros EV is expected to deliver a higher claimed driving range. Being smaller and lighter, it could travel up to 443 km with the 42 kWh battery, while the larger 51.4 kWh battery is expected to offer a claimed range of up to 520 km. If these figures are accurate, the Syros EV could become one of the longest-range electric SUVs in its segment.

3. Lifetime Battery Warranty May Be Offered

Another major highlight is the expected warranty package. According to the leaked information, Kia could offer a 15-year or lifetime battery warranty with the Syros EV. If introduced, it would be one of the longest battery warranty programmes available in India. The SUV is also expected to come with a 3-year standard vehicle warranty, extendable up to 7 years or 1.6 lakh km. A buyback assurance programme is also likely to be part of the ownership package.

4. Premium Features Likely

The Syros EV is expected to offer many features seen on Kia's latest models. These could include a large touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and a comprehensive safety package.

5. Launch Expected Soon

Kia India has already teased upcoming electric and hybrid vehicles, and the Syros EV is expected to be one of the brand's next launches. While the company has not officially revealed its specifications, more details related to performance, charging, variants, features and pricing are expected closer to the launch.
