Kia’s big product push begins 5 new cars, EVs and hybrids lead From Syros EV to new Sonet
Kia is preparing for a major product expansion in India over the next couple of years.
The carmaker has confirmed that most of its upcoming launches will focus on electric and hybrid vehicles. This includes a mix of compact SUVs, premium three-row models and future-ready upgrades to existing cars.
Here’s a closer look at the five upcoming Kia cars.
The Syros EV will be Kia’s next big launch and is scheduled to debut in July.
It is expected to look similar to the petrol version, with minor EV-specific changes like a closed grille and new wheels. The SUV is likely to be feature-loaded and spacious, just like its ICE counterpart.
Kia is working on strong localisation to keep pricing competitive. The Syros EV could offer a driving range of around 500 km and will rival the Tata Nexon EV and upcoming electric SUVs in the segment.

Kia has officially greenlit the Sorento Hybrid for India.
This premium three-row SUV is expected to arrive by the end of the year and could be locally manufactured. It will sit above the Seltos in the lineup and target buyers looking for a bigger family SUV.
For India, the Sorento Hybrid is likely to use a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a hybrid system for improved efficiency.
Kia is also working on a hybrid version of the Carnival MPV.
Unlike the Sorento, this model is expected to be brought in as an import. It will follow the same hybrid setup seen globally, combining a turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor.
The Carnival Hybrid will continue to target premium buyers looking for a spacious and feature-rich MPV.
The Seltos Hybrid is another key model in Kia’s future lineup.
It is expected to launch in 2027 and will likely use a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor. This setup should improve fuel efficiency while keeping performance balanced.
The addition of a hybrid variant will help Kia compete better in the mid-size SUV segment.
Kia is also preparing the next-generation Sonet, expected to launch in 2027.
The new model will be based on a fresh platform shared with the Syros, bringing improvements in safety, features and space.
Expect a more modern cabin with larger screens, better connectivity and improved rear seat comfort. A hybrid version is also planned, but it will arrive later, likely around 2029.
