Mahindra Vision S compact SUV arriving in early 2027 Vision X previews next-gen Mahindra XUV 3XO
In order to further boost sales, Mahindra is planning to add multiple new SUVs in its portfolio. The company has already announced its new NU_IQ platform based products will start arriving from early 2027. While the XUV 3XO has been generating good numbers, the homegrown SUV maker is now preparing to launch two new compact SUVs based on the Vision S and Vision X concepts.
While the Vision S previews the brand’s rugged-adventure design, the Vision X based compact SUV presents the brand’s new Urban design philosophy. Both models are based on the brand’s NU_IQ architecture, and testing of the Vision S based lifestyle-SUV has already been started on the Indian roads.

The Vision S is rumoured to be the smallest member of the Scorpio family, and could be called the Scorpio Sport. This SUV comes with a boxy, upright silhouette, and the spotted model looks identical to the original concept that debuted in 2025. It gets the inverted L-shaped LED DRLs and a vertical-slat grille with “Twin-Peaks” logo. The SUV has a high ground clearance, chunky wheel arches, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
The SUV will come with flush-fitting door handles, 18-inch dual-tone alloys, panoramic sunroof, LEVEL-2 ADAS, a 360-degree surround view camera, ventilated front seats and connected car tech. It is built on the brand’s new NU_IQ platform that is compatible with different body styles and powertrains, including hybrid, EV and ICE. It will sit between the XUV 3XO and Scorpio N, and is built for person who wants a rugged lifestyle SUV.
1.2L TGDi petrol - 130hp
1.5L diesel (Not confirmed) - 117hp and 300Nm
Hybrid and EV could join at a later stage.
The Vision X concept based crossover-SUV is likely to come as the next-gen Mahindra XUV 3XO. It will share the platform and electronic architecture with the Vision S based compact SUV. This front-wheel-drive SUV will have a wheelbase of 2665mm, which is longest among all sub-4 meter SUVs on sale in India. The production model could see a minor reduction, but a longer wheelbase promises more space in the second-row and bigger boot.
The concept has a coupe-SUV like design with inspiration from the Mahindra BE 6. The SUV has an upright stance and high ground clearance, but the sculpted bonnet and sloping roofline gives it a coupe-SUV look. The rear profile is more upright than the XEV 9e. The concept previews its modern cabin with a combined display for the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. It gets a two-spoke steering wheel and a triple-tone dashboard, and individual centre arm rests for the front passengers. The SUV is expected to be offered with petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains, and launch is expected in 2028.
