It is no secret that Mahindra is readying 3 all-new electric SUVs, the BE.05, XUV.e8 and XUV.e9, which will be launched in the country before the end of 2025. The company is also testing these models, and recently, the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 were caught doing high altitude testing. The XUV.e9 will be the brand's flagship SUV Coupe, which will come with several high-end features and tech.
The latest spy images fully reveal the dashboard layout of the upcoming Mahindra XUV Coupe. The electric SUV Coupe comes with a premium cabin with several high-end features and stylish exterior. The XUV.e9 will be a 5-seater Coupe SUV, which will also be the first model from Mahindra stable to offer Coupe design.
The XUV.e9 comes with modern design elements such as connected LED headlamps, flush-type door handles, a newly designed front grille, aggressive front bumper and uniquely styled alloys. The front styling is different and will be made available on the XUV.e8 as well.
The SUV Coupe comes with connected LED lighting system, raked windscreen and stubby tailgate. It has sloping roofline along with shark fin antenna for a sporty feel. The XUV.e9 will also come with a factory-fitted panoramic sunroof/glass roof.
The clearest picture confirms that the upcoming Mahindra XUV Coupe SUV and XUV.e8 will debut the brand's new triple-screen layout. The screen incorporates a digital instrument panel, a touchscreen infotainment unit and a touch display for the co-passenger's entertainment. The dashboard design is similar to the XUV700; however, it has new treatments. Further, the SUV has a new two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel design that houses an illuminated centre logo. This is similar to the one offered on recent Tata cars including the Harrier and Curvv.
The gear lever styling is similar to the one offered on the Mahindra XUV400 EV. In terms of features, the SUV Coupe will receive wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable driver and co-driver seats, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting system, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control system and others.
The Coupe SUV will come with Level 2 ADAS with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, auto high beam and others. Other safety features will include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree surround view camera, and others.
The new XUV SUV Coupe is designed and developed on Mahindra's new Born-electric or skateboard architecture, called INGLO. The platform supports different styling and battery configurations including 60kWh to 80kWh. The SUV will come with both single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD options along with a power output up to 395PS. It is expected to offer a WLTP claimed range of up to 450km on a single charge.
The new Mahindra XUV Coupe SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh. It won't have a direct rival in our market. In terms of pricing, the SUV Coupe could be a good alternative to the BYD Atto 3. The SUV Coupe is reportedly to be unveiled in production avatar at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. A possible launch by mid-2025 can't be ignored.
