Mercedes-Benz has launched two new car models in the Indian market. Both the GLC 43 AMG and CLE Cabriolet are priced at Rs. 1.10 crore (ex-showroom). The former was available on sale in India in its previous-gen avatar while the CLE Cabriolet is the all-new car that replaced the globally available C-Class Cabriolet. Let's take a look at its design, features, and performance.
From the design perspective, the AMG GLC 43 features AMG-specific styling cues including grille, larger air inlets, side skirting 21-inch alloy wheels, and sportier front & rear bumpers, and more.
Inside, it has a similar interior to the standard GLC. However, there are some AMG-specific features such as steering wheel, sporty seats with Nappa leather with AMG branded floor nmats and pedals. Other features on the equipment list include an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 12.3-inch driver display, 15-speaker Burmester System.
Under the hood, it gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine mated with 48V mild-hybrid tech. This can provide the maximum power of 415 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. It offers a top speed of 205 kmph.
The new CLE Cabriolet borrows some styling cues from the regular E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet such as a large grille with a shark-nose effect, an automatic, a long bonnet, a multi-layered fabric hood, and more. In terms of features, it gets 11.9-inch portrait-style infotainment and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. It comes with a 2+2 seating configuration with newly designed front seats that include heating, headrest, and 4-way lumbar support as standard.
It is based on the brand's Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform. It is available with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine mated to a 48V mild-hybrid system. With a 9-speed torque converter automatic as standard, this unit can produce 254 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds, offering a top speed of 250 kmph.
