Next-Gen Honda Amaze to Offer New Design, Features, Platform - Spied

Honda India is planning to launch its third-gen Amaze by December 2024. Ahead of that, the next-gen sub 4m sedan has been spied in the country for the first time. Covered in camouflage, it was spotted carrying the emission testing kit attached to the vehicle's exhaust. Some of its exterior design features have also been revealed. Continue reading to know more.

New-Gen Honda Amaze: What's Spotted?

The test mule was partially covered which gave us some glimpses of the exterior features. Based on the spy shots, the overall visual appeal is similar to the current Amaze. Some of the exterior features might include new tail lamps with smoked treatment, a reverse camera, 3 fixed headrests for the rear passengers, and a shark fin antenna.

Similar to the existing model, which is inspired from the bigger Honda sedans, the new-gen Honda Amaze will share styling cues from the new Honda Accord. It will have the familiar Honda fascia with the large front grille, flanked by LED headlamps and a chrome bar that runs above the grille. It is likely to get a new front bumper with a wider and slimmer air dam and fog lamp housing on either side.

The interior of the new Amaze is expected to share the dashboard layout and features with the new ELevate mid-sized SUV. It is likely to be fitted with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument console, automatic AC with rear AC vents and others. It is reportedly to receive a factory-fitted sunroof and ADAS suite. The ADAS tech will offer features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam and others.

Platform and Engine Details

The new Amaze will be based on the tweaked version of the City's platform. This platform also underpins the Elevate SUV. As for the powertrain, Honda is likely to offer the same engine choice as the current model. It will continue to retain its 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, producing 89 bhp and 110 Nm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT.
