Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the GLB EV for India. The electric SUV offers a claimed range of up to 631 km. It will be imported to India via the CBU route.
Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed that the new-generation Mercedes-Benz GLB EV will be launched in the Indian market. The announcement was made by Santosh Iyer, although the company has not revealed when the electric SUV will go on sale. The GLB EV will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
The new GLB EV is based on Mercedes-Benz's Modular Architecture (MMA), which has been developed for the brand's next generation of electric vehicles. Globally, the SUV is offered in two versions. The GLB 250+ comes with a single electric motor that produces 268 bhp and 335 Nm of torque. The GLB 350 4Matic gets a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, delivering 348 bhp and 515 Nm of torque. Both versions use the same 85 kWh battery pack.

Mercedes-Benz claims the GLB EV can deliver a driving range of up to 631 km on a full charge, depending on the variant. The battery also supports DC fast charging of up to 320 kW. According to the company, it can add up to 260 km of range in just 10 minutes when connected to a compatible fast charger.
The GLB EV has a different look compared to the regular GLB SUV. It features a closed front grille with the Mercedes three-pointed star at the centre, connected LED headlamps and a full-width lighting signature. Other exterior highlights include flush-fitting door handles and inverted U-shaped LED tail lamps.
Inside, the GLB EV comes with Mercedes-Benz's new Superscreen setup. It includes a 14-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an additional display for the front passenger. The SUV is also equipped with a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, a Burmester audio system with Dolby Atmos and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Mercedes-Benz has not announced the launch timeline for the GLB EV yet, but its arrival has now been confirmed. Once launched, it will further expand the brand's electric vehicle portfolio in India and offer luxury SUV customers another long-range electric option.
