New Flagship Cars and Premium SUVs Set for October Launches in India
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift launches on October 5 Volvo EX90 and ES90 are expected around October 12 New Audi Q3 is scheduled to launch on October 16
October 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting month for India's premium car market. Four notable models from Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Audi are expected to arrive during the month. The line-up includes a facelifted luxury sedan, two high-end electric models and a new-generation premium SUV.
October 5: Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Facelift
The first major luxury launch of the month will be the facelifted Mercedes-Maybach S-Class on October 5. Mercedes-Benz has given the luxury sedan a refreshed front-end, featuring a larger illuminated grille, redesigned headlamps and new star-shaped daytime running lights. The cabin continues with a high-end layout, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 14.4-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger display. The international S580 gets a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing around 537hp and 750Nm. India-specific details will be announced closer to the launch.

October 12: Volvo's Electric Flagship Duo
Volvo is expected to introduce two of its premium electric models in India around October 12 — the EX90 and ES90.
The EX90 is Volvo's flagship electric SUV and comes with three rows of seating. The India-spec model is expected to feature a 106kWh battery pack and dual electric motors, producing 456hp and 670Nm. Its claimed range can go up to 625km, depending on the specification. The cabin gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen, 9-inch driver display and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
The ES90 will add a premium electric sedan to Volvo's India range. International versions get 92kWh and 106kWh battery options, with power outputs ranging from 333hp to 680hp. The ES90 also uses an 800V electrical architecture and supports up to 350kW DC fast charging. Its top-spec version has a claimed WLTP range of up to 696km.
October 16: New Audi Q3
Audi's new-generation Q3 is scheduled to launch in India on October 16. The SUV gets a completely redesigned exterior and is around 40mm longer than the outgoing model. Audi has also started local production of the new Q3 in India. The India-spec SUV is expected to use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 204hp and 320Nm. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive are also expected.
What Makes October Important for the Premium Car Market?
The four launches cover different areas of the premium market. Mercedes-Benz is updating its luxury flagship sedan, Volvo is expanding its high-end EV range, and Audi is bringing a new generation of its premium compact SUV. With three of the four models being electric or electrified-focused luxury offerings, October will also add more variety to India's premium car market.
