Next-gen Mercedes-Maybach S-Class could cross the Rs 3 crore mark in India Gets a larger illuminated grille and upgraded MBUX Hyperscreen S680 to get a 603bhp hybrid V8 with 850Nm of torque
Mercedes-Benz is preparing to introduce the next-generation Maybach S-Class, which is expected to bring more luxury, technology and performance to the flagship sedan.
The current-generation Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is priced at around Rs 2.88 crore (ex-showroom) in India. With the new model, the price could cross the Rs 3 crore mark. The upcoming Maybach S-Class will also arrive as part of Mercedes-Benz's 140th anniversary celebrations, while the Maybach brand will mark 105 years.
Larger Illuminated Maybach Grille
The next-generation Maybach S-Class will get a redesigned exterior with a larger Maybach grille. The grille is expected to be around 20 per cent bigger and will also feature illumination. The Mercedes star and Maybach badge on the C-pillar will also get illuminated elements. Other exterior highlights are expected to include 20- and 21-inch wheels, MANUFAKTUR and forged alloy wheel options, along with dual-tone paint finishes.

More Features Inside the Cabin
The biggest changes are expected inside the cabin. The second row will get powered soft-close doors, which can be operated using buttons in the rear or through the MBUX Hyperscreen. The new MBUX Hyperscreen will be a major update over the outgoing setup. It is expected to include a 14.41-inch central display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a dedicated passenger screen.
Rear passengers will also get a centre console and 13.1-inch displays. A 10-litre refrigerator is expected to be integrated into the second-row area. The cabin will also feature 199 LED ambient lighting with 64 colour options. The voice assistant is expected to support Google Gemini, Bing and ChatGPT 4o.
More Powerful Hybrid V8 Engines
The next-generation Maybach S-Class will also get updated powertrains. The S680 is expected to use a hybrid-assisted 4.0-litre V8 producing 603bhp and 850Nm. The powertrain will also get a 23bhp electric motor with 205Nm.
The S580 is expected to produce 529bhp and 750Nm, with the same 23bhp electric motor and 205Nm of torque. A plug-in hybrid S580e will also be offered internationally. It uses a six-cylinder engine instead of the V8 and is expected to provide around 100km of electric-only range.
Adaptive Air Suspension
The new Maybach S-Class will also feature adaptive AIRMATIC air suspension with predictive damping. The system is designed to adjust the suspension based on road conditions to improve ride comfort. For India, the new Maybach S-Class is expected to be offered with both V8 and plug-in hybrid powertrain options.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Rivals
The new Maybach S-Class will continue to compete in the ultra-luxury segment, where buyers now have options across different body styles and powertrain types. Its rivals are expected to include the BMW i7 M70, Lexus LM, BMW XM and Lotus Eletre.
