2026 Mercedes S-Class facelift launched at 2.20 crore Gets a plug-in hybrid engine, 32.2kmpl mileage Bookings open, deliveries from Diwali

Mercedes-Benz has launched the new 2026 S-Class in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 2.20 crore (ex-showroom). The 2026 Mercedes S-Class facelift comes with design and interior changes along with an upgraded tech and a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain. This flagship sedan is only available in the S 450e guise in India. 


S-Class Facelift Price


The new sedan is available in two variants - Launch Edition Exclusive Line and Manufaktur AMG Line - priced at Rs 2.20 crore and Rs 2.38 crore, respectively. The flagship sedan directly rivals the BMW 7-Series. Compared to the previous model, the new model price is now increased by Rs 35 lakh. 


2026 Mercedes S-Class Bookings and Delivery Details


Mercedes-Benz has started accepting pre-bookings for the new S-Class sedan. Deliveries for the new flagship sedan is scheduled to commence around Diwali in Q4, 2026. 


Engine Specifications


The 2026 S-Class line-up now comes with the S 450e plug-in hybrid powertrain. It is packed with a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine, which is paired with a rear-mounted electric motor and a 22kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The plug-in hybrid setup offers a combined power and torque output stands at 435bhp and 650Nm, respectively. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox. 


Mercedes-Benz claims that the new sedan offers an electric-only range of up to 115km. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 5.7 seconds. The 22kWh battery can be charged from 10-80 percent in 20 minutes using a 60kWh charger. It is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 32.2kmpl (WLTP Cycle). 


In the global markets, the sedan is also available with a 3.0L turbo-petrol six-cylinder engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This engine produces 404bhp and
500Nm of torque, and is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 4.9 seconds.

2026 Mercedes S-Class Design and Interior


The overall silhouette remains identical to the pre-facelift model. It comes with a larger front grille with chrome garnished three-pointed star elements, and illuminated surround. The ‘Digital Light’ LED headlamps now has Mercedes-Benz’s signature three-pointed star graphics. At the back, the sedan gets new LED tail-lamps that feature dynamic light animations and illuminated Mercedes logo. The redesigned front bumper has bigger air intakes on either corners. It gets newly styled alloy wheels and new paint schemes. 


2026 Mercedes S-Class Interior


The cabin comes with significant changes, featuring upgraded digital interfaces and a higher tech. The centre console has also been revised with new elements and trim finishes. The four-seater option gets the so-called “executive rear seats”, which allows backrest to be reclined up to 43.5 degrees. All 4 seats come with ventilation, heating and massage functions. 


Mercedes-Benz claims that the cabin insulation has been improved to reduce the NVH Levels. The ambient lighting system is now available at larger section, including the dashboard, footrests, centre console, armrests, cupholders, door pads and AC vents.
