MG Motor India has dropped a new teaser featuring the Gloster facelift. However, the brand is making this launch a bit mysterious. It is said that the updated Gloster won't be just a facelift but an all-new edition which might be named Desert Storm Edition.
The teaser video does not reveal the new Desert Storm edition as the model was covered in sand. However, speculations suggest that it could get a Beige colour exterior paint and variant-specific badging. It is also likely to have additional cladding and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the SUV could come with a variant-specific cabin theme and premium leatherette upholstery. Although the new edition is not expected to offer additional features, the top-spec variant might get some advanced features. These include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver's display, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS.
MG Gloster Desert Storm Edition is expected to retain the current 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel and 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine options. Both engines are mated with 8-speed automatic transmission. The former can generate 211 bhp and 478 Nm of torque while the latter can produce 215 bhp with 480 Nm. It could also get limited AWD options with different terrain modes.
