Latest Update - the fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire has finally been launched in the Indian market. Priced between Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh, the new Dzire comes with new design and interior along with new engine options. The sedan has become the first Maruti Suzuki car to get full 5 star crash test rating by Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). Head to our launch story to find out full price list
The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire has already created a buzz with its 5-star Global NCAP rating ahead of its market launch on November 11, 2024. With this achievement, it becomes the first-ever Maruti Suzuki car to receive a 5-star safety rating. While details on the variants, features, and specifications of the new Maruti Dzire will be revealed in a couple of days, we have gathered some preliminary information on the vehicle.
The compact sedan’s model lineup will be available in four trims: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus. Significant changes have been made both inside and out, and the new Dzire will also feature the Swift’s Z-Series petrol engine, with the transmissions carried forward from the current generation.
The base variant of the current generation Dzire is available at a starting price of Rs 6.56 lakh, going up to Rs 9.39 lakh for the top-end variant. We expect the starting price of the new Dzire to be more or less similar to the existing one, at least for the initial few months. The fully-loaded top variant is expected to be priced around Rs 10 lakh.
Under the hood, the new Maruti Dzire is equipped with a 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine, producing a claimed 82PS of power and 112Nm of torque. Buyers will also have the option of a CNG fuel variant. The Dzire CNG delivers a claimed power output of 70PS and 102Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT gearboxes are available. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the sedan’s manual and AMT petrol versions offer fuel efficiencies of 24.79 km/l and 25.71 km/l, respectively. With the CNG fuel setup, it promises 33.73 km/kg.
The interior of the new Maruti Dzire bears a strong resemblance to that of the Swift, though a few changes have been made. The top-end trim offers features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Arkamys sound system, leatherette-wrapped steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, and a colored MID. The compact sedan has a dual-tone black and beige interior with fabric seat upholstery for the base variant.
All variants of the 2024 Maruti Dzire come with six airbags, along with ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, reverse parking sensors, Isofix child seat mounts, hill hold assist, seatbelt reminders, three-point seatbelts for all seats, and a rear defogger. The reverse parking camera and tire pressure monitoring system are available from the ZXi trim onwards.
