New Hyundai i20 Could Debut With ADAS and Dual Screens

Hyundai teases next-gen i20 with ADAS and dual screens. Hatchback features bold LED design and SUV-inspired stance. Production starts in India, Turkey, and Brazil ahead of global launch.

Hyundai has released a second teaser for the upcoming 4th-generation i20, giving a closer look at its futuristic design and lighting setup. The hatchback is shaping up to be one of the most significant updates in the model’s history, with hints of dual-screen infotainment and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in higher variants.

Futuristic LED Lighting

The teaser highlights a full-width LED light bar linking the Y-shaped DRLs on the front, creating a distinctive look reminiscent of premium sports cars. Below, rectangular projector headlamps add to the futuristic appeal. At the rear, a connected LED light bar with boomerang-style elements emphasizes width and road presence, giving the i20 a bold stance on the road.

Dual Screens and Modern Interior

Spy shots suggest the new i20 will feature a curved dual-screen setup, similar to Hyundai’s latest global models. The cabin is expected to include the Pleos Connect infotainment system, redesigned dashboard, fresh upholstery options, and a 360-degree camera. Higher variants could also offer Level 2 ADAS, providing safety features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.

Crossover-Inspired Design

The next-generation i20 adopts a more upright and angular profile. Its greenhouse looks squarer, with sharper creases along the roofline and window line. Test mules have revealed redesigned alloy wheels, refreshed bumpers, and a taller, more muscular stance. While retaining its hatchback proportions, the i20 now has a stronger, SUV-inspired road presence.

Engines and Global Production

Globally, the i20 may offer hybrid options, while India is expected to continue with the current petrol lineup:

  • 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol: 83 PS (manual), 88 PS (iVT automatic)
  • 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (N Line): 120 PS, 172 Nm (6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT)

Production will continue in India and Turkey, with the Piracicaba plant in Brazil joining for the new generation. The global debut is expected soon, ahead of international market rollouts including India.
