Will be larger than the current model Expect the India launch in Dec 2024 Will rival the new BMW 5 Series LWB
A direct rival to the recently unveiled BMW 5 Series LWB, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been spotted undisguised in Pune, India. The new E-Class made its global debut in 2023, however, Indians have been waiting for its Long-Wheel Base (LWB) version which is likely to arrive in India by the year-end.
A few images shared by Evo India reveal the main features of the upcoming E-Class. Design-wise, the new E-Class highlights an all-new single-slat front grille with chrome surround and inserts. There are also a new front bumper & rear bumper, larger LED headlamps & tail lights, dual-tone alloy wheels, and flush-fitting door handles.
It is also believed that the new E-Class LWB would be larger than the current model. It is likely to be 17mm longer and 20mm wider with the addition of a 15mm longer wheelbase.
The interior of the 6th-gen E-Class is completely different from its previous-gen model. Some of its premium features include dual-tone upholstery, MBUX Superscreen, active ambient lighting, a Burmester-sourced music system, four-zone climate control, and a Level 4 ADAS suite.
Internationally, the sixth-gen E-Class is available in six engine options. However, the India-spec model is likely to come equipped with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel units mated to a mild-hybrid system. When launched, it would be a direct rival to BMW 5 Series and Audi 6.
