Nissan has officially confirmed to launch 3 new models including a new sub-4 meter MPV based on Renault Triber, a mid-sized SUV and a 3-row SUV in 2025 and 2026. On the flip side, Renault has announced to launch the new-gen Duster SUV and a new 3-row SUV in India in 2026. The new mid-sized SUVs will directly rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and others in the category.

The new SUV will be launched in the FY, 2026. It will be based on the Renault-Nissan alliance's CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin a new 7-seater SUV. It will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan Alliance's factory in Chennai. The new Nissan SUV will be powered by a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 151bhp and 250Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Nissan could also introduce an entry-level variant with a 1.5L NA petrol engine with a manual gearbox. 
Nissan has confirmed that the new SUV design will be inspired by the larger Patrol SUV. In terms of design, the SUV will have uniquely styled front fascia, featuring L-shaped LED DRLs connected by a chrome strip, slimmer headlamps and new bumper with C-shaped silver cladding, and bonnet scoops. 
The cabin layout will also be inspired by Nissan's global SUVs. It is likely to get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree surround view camera, LEVEL 2 ADAS tech, ventilated front seats and many more. 

Renault has confirmed that the new Duster will be launched in the first quarter of FY26. The new-gen Duster is already on sale in select international markets including South Africa and Turkey. In the global markets, the SUV is available with multiple engine options including hybrid and mild-hybrid units. The India-spec model is likely to get the 151bhp/250Nm, 1.3L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic gearbox.
The third-gen Duster comes with driving assistance system including a 360-degree surround view camera, rear parking assistance, blind spot detection, cruise control speed limiter, hill descent control and hill start assist system. It could get paddle shifters, front, side and rear sensors, and 18-inch alloy wheels. In terms of features, the SUV will have a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument console, wireless charging and LEVEL 2 ADAS.
