Renault is bringing a bigger SUV above the Duster. The new model is expected to get three rows, hybrid power and ADAS. It will take on the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV 7XO.
Renault is getting ready to expand its SUV lineup in India. While the new-generation Duster is expected to return during the 2026 festive season, the company is also working on a bigger SUV that will sit above it. The upcoming model is expected to be Renault's flagship offering and will target buyers looking for a spacious three-row family SUV.
The new SUV is expected to be based on the Dacia Bigster, which is sold in some global markets as the Renault Boreal. It will follow the same design theme as the Duster but will be larger in size to make room for a third row of seats.
The Duster is around 4.3 metres long with a wheelbase of 2.65 metres. The bigger SUV is expected to measure about 4.57 metres in length and have a longer 2.70-metre wheelbase. This extra space should make the cabin more comfortable, especially for passengers in the second and third rows.

Renault is expected to offer many of the same features that will be seen on the new Duster. These may include dual digital screens, automatic climate control, connected car technology, full LED lights and a Level 2 ADAS safety package. The larger cabin could also allow for a more premium interior with extra storage and better comfort for families.
The upcoming SUV is likely to share its engine options with the Duster. Renault is expected to offer a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine along with a 1.8-litre strong hybrid powertrain. The hybrid version is likely to make its India debut with the Duster before finding its way into the bigger SUV.
Once launched, the new Renault SUV will compete with models like the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV 7XO. It will also become the brand's most premium SUV in India.
The same SUV is also expected to get a Nissan version in the future as part of the Renault-Nissan partnership. Before these SUVs arrive, Renault is set to launch an updated Kwid. However, the Duster and this new flagship SUV are expected to play the biggest role in the company's plans for the Indian market.
