Tata Motors is planning to launch 7 new nameplates, including the Sierra and Avinya in the Indian market before the end of FY30. A leaked document from Tata dealer event reveals that Tata will launch two models under the Avinya nameplate in India.
Tata Motors had showcased the Avinya Sportback concept in 2023, while the Avinya X luxurious electric SUV debuted at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The company will source EMA platform from JLR to develop these new electric SUVs; however, the platform will be significantly modified and localised to achieve competitive pricing.
Tata Motors will first launch Avinya Sportback in 2027. It is claimed to offer leading in-cabin experience with next-gen connectivity, ADAS, performance, refinement and safety. The new EMA architecture is compatible with Software Over the Air, Features Over the Air, and ultrafast charging technologies for high performance vehicles.
The Tata Avinya X is expected to be launched sometime in late 2027 or early 2028. The ultra-luxury Avinya X concept was revealed at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The concept had three-screen display on the dashboard and a massive fourth screen, which is free-standing and placed lower. It has two-spoke steering wheel, V2L and V2V functionality, panoramic sunroof, LEVEL-2 ADAS, wireless phone charger and multi-zone climate control.
It was speculated that Tata could offer Avinya X in both 5 and 7-seat layout; however, leaked document suggests that only a single version will be introduced in India. Both models will offer RWD and AWD drivetrains.
