Tata Motors has unveiled its latest offering – Dark Edition variants for the Nexon, Nexon.ev, Harrier, and Safari facelift SUVs. These special editions undergo a series of cosmetic modifications to achieve a distinctively sleek and blacked-out appearance. With bookings anticipated to open imminently, those eager to own these SUVs can secure theirs through official online portals or by visiting their nearest dealership.
In terms of exterior design, the Tata Nexon, Nexon.ev, Harrier, and Safari Dark Editions receive an exclusive all-black exterior shade complemented by #Dark badges all around. These SUVs showcase a blacked-out front grille, ORVMS, roof rails, and alloy wheels for a striking visual appeal. While maintaining the essence of their standard counterparts, these SUVs have undergone these cosmetic enhancements.
Inside the Nexon and Nexon.ev, a black theme dominates, featuring black leatherette seats adorned with 'Dark' lettering embroidered on the headrests. Conversely, the Tata Safari and Harrier Dark Editions boast a Blackstone interior theme accentuated by Piano Black inserts, coupled with leatherette upholstery featuring 'Dark' lettering on the headrests.
Talking about the tech feature, the Nexon.ev comprises vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load communication capabilities, a suite of pre-installed applications, a premium nine-speaker JBL sound system, blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera setup, and the inclusion of a sunroof among others.
Meanwhile, standout attributes of the Tata Harrier and Safari Dark Editions encompass a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, welcoming and farewell animations at both front and rear, comprehensive safety with 7 airbags, an immersive 10-speaker JBL sound system featuring Harman AudioworX, and additional enhancements.
The Nexon offers two engine choices: a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit. The petrol powertrain is paired with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Whereas the diesel trims come with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT automatic transmission.
Tata Nexon.ev Dark Edition runs on a 40.5 kWh battery pack coupled with a 143 bhp electric motor, boasting a claimed range of 465 km on a single charge.
Both the Harrier and Safari Dark Editions are equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine generating 170 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
While variant specifics are pending, the starting prices for the Dark Editions are as follows:
