Tata Sierra ICE launch in November 2025 Sierra EV launch expected in December 2025 ICE model to debut two petrol engines EV could get a dual-motor AWD set-up
Tata Motors is all set to launch 4 new SUVs in the country before the end of this financial year. It was speculated that the long-awaited Sierra EV will arrive first, but media reports suggest that the Tata Sierra ICE will be launched first in November 2025. On the flip side, the electric version of the lifestyle SUV will be introduced in December 2025.
The new Tata Sierra measures around 4.3 meters in length. The ICE derivative of the SUV will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris, and the upcoming Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton. On the flip side, the Sierra EV will challenge the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
The new lifestyle SUV with petrol and diesel engines is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom. Its EV counterpart is likely to be priced around Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

Tata Motors is reportedly to introduce two new petrol engines with the Sierra lifestyle SUV in India. The SUV will get a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. The naturally-aspirated engine will power the lower-spec variants of the Sierra.
The new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 170hp at 5,000rpm and a peak torque of 280Nm between 2,000-3,500rpm. This engine is expected to be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission). This engine will also power the Harrier and Safari.
The diesel version will get the 2.0L, 4-cylinder, turbo engine that powers the Harrier and Safari. This engine produces 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Tata Motors could detune this powertrain, as it acquired license to make changes in engine from Fiat. Gearbox duties will be handled by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The electric Sierra is likely to share the powertrains with Harrier EV, which is available with 65kWh and 75kWh LFP battery packs. The Tata Sierra EV will be a front-wheel-drive SUV, but its top model could get a dual-motor AWD set-up. It is expected to offer a realistic range of around 450-500km on a single charge.
