It was speculated that Tata Motors will first launch the Sierra EV in India. However, our sources reveal that the Tata Sierra ICE will launch first while the EV version will arrive in early next year. Interestingly, the company will also introduce the petrol-powered Harrier and Safari before the end of this year.
Tata Motors is most likely to launch the ICE-powered in the second week of November 2025. On the flip side, the Sierra EV is expected to be revealed by December 2025 or January 2026. The petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari are expected to be introduced in the end of November 2025.
The new ICE-powered Tata Sierra will measure around 4.3 meters in length, which makes it a direct rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris, and the upcoming Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton.
Tata Motors will market the new Sierra as a lifestyle SUV. This SUV will carry an aggressive price tag. We expect the Tata Sierra ICE to price somewhere around Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom.

Tata Sierra to mark debut of Tata’s two petrol engines, a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged. The naturally-aspirated unit will be offered on the lower-spec variants, which will help Tata Motors to achieve competitive pricing. This version will rival the Maruti Victoris 1.5, Hyundai Creta 1.5, Honda Elevate 1.5 and Kia Seltos 1.5.
The turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 170hp at 5,00rpm and a peak torque of 280Nm between 2,000-3,500rpm. This engine is likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. Both powertrains will be compliant with the E20 fuel. The turbo unit will also power the Harrier and Safari.
The diesel version is expected to get the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo engine that powers the Harrier and Safari. This engine produces 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Tata Motors has the license of tweaking this engine to offer different state of tunes. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Not just new powertrains, the Tata Sierra will also mark the debut of triple screen dashboard. In fact, the company had showcased the near-production model with three screens at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. The screen comprising a central infotainment unit, an instrument panel and a co-occupant entertainment screen.
Other features will include LEVEL 2 ADAS, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree surround view camera, auto-dimming IRVM, HUD, Multi-colour ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone climate control and ventilated and powered front seats. For safety and security, the SUV gets 6 airbags, ESP, TPMS, hill launch and hill descent control, traction control system and others.
