Maruti Fronx leads SUV sales in December 2025. Tata Nexon and Brezza continue strong demand. SUV sales grow 35 percent year-on-year in December.
The latest car sales report 2025 is out, and SUVs continue to dominate the Indian market. December 2025 saw strong year-on-year growth, with compact and mid-size SUVs driving volumes. Maruti, Tata, Mahindra and Hyundai featured heavily in the list of top selling cars for the month.
Here’s a look at the top 10 selling SUVs in December 2025, based on wholesale sales data.
Maruti Fronx emerged as the highest-selling SUV in December 2025. It recorded sales of 20,706 units, a massive jump compared to 10,752 units sold in December 2024. Strong demand for its petrol variants and aggressive pricing helped Fronx take the lead.

Tata Nexon, including its EV version, held the second position in December 2025. The SUV sold 19,375 units, up from 13,536 units in December 2024. Nexon remains one of the most consistent performers in the Indian SUV space.
Maruti Brezza stood third on the list with sales of 17,704 units in December 2025. In comparison, it had sold 17,336 units in December 2024. While growth was limited, Brezza continues to be a reliable choice among car buyers.
Tata Punch, along with its EV version, recorded sales of 15,980 units in December 2025. This is slightly higher than the 15,073 units sold in December 2024. The compact SUV’s strong safety rating and urban-friendly size continue to attract customers.
Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio-N together sold 15,885 units in December 2025. This marks a clear improvement over the 12,195 units sold in December 2024. Demand remains strong for rugged and powerful SUVs in this segment.
Hyundai Creta, including the EV, posted sales of 13,154 units in December 2025. It had sold 12,608 units in December 2024. Despite rising competition, Creta continues to be one of the most trusted midsize SUVs.
Mahindra Bolero saw a sharp rise in sales during December 2025. The SUV sold 10,611 units, compared to just 5,921 units in December 2024. Its popularity remains strong in rural and semi-urban markets.
Hyundai Venue recorded sales of 10,322 units in December 2025. This is almost unchanged from the 10,265 units sold in December 2024. Even with flat growth, Venue managed to stay within the top 10.
Mahindra XUV 3XO sold 9,422 units in December 2025, showing clear growth over the 7,000 units sold in December 2024. The SUV continues to benefit from its fresh design and updated features.
Mahindra Thar and Thar Roxx together closed the top 10 list with sales of 9,339 units in December 2025. In December 2024, the combined sales stood at 7,659 units. The lifestyle SUV continues to enjoy strong demand.
