The homegrown automaker, Mahindra, is looking to further strengthen its position as a market leader in the SUV category. The company will aim to consolidate its position in the premium SUV segment with a flurry of launches over the next couple of years. Mahindra will give significant updates to its best-selling models. Moreover, multiple new born-electric SUVs will be introduced in the premium category. Let’s have a look at what the Indian automaker has in store.

Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV700 will receive a mid-life update before the end of this financial year. Our sources reveal that the Mahindra XUV700 facelift could be launched before the end of this year, but media reports suggest that the sales could begin in Q1, 2026. The SUV will receive significant design and interior changes along with a longer list of features.
The 3-row SUV will have a revised front fascia with a revised grille, an updated bumper, and a new LED headlamp set-up with a redesigned C-shaped LED DRLs. Inside the cabin, the SUV will have a triple screen dashboard that houses a central infotainment unit, an instrument panel and a co-occupant entertainment unit. In terms of features, the SUV will have Harman/Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos audio tech, auto dimming IRVM, front parking sensors, LEVEL 2+ system, etc.
The SUV could also get a six-seater derivative with captain seats in the second-row with ventilation function. Similar to the XEV 9e, the XUV700 facelift could come with self parking features. No mechanical changes will be made, and it will continue to be offered with the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engine. Gearbox duties will be handled by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

The next big launch from the house of Mahindra is the 7-seater AWD family EV, which will join the XEV 9e and BE 6. This electric SUV is rumoured to be called the Mahindra XEV 7e and will take on the Tata Harrier EV. Scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2026, the XEV 7e or XUV700 electric will be the brand’s flagship EV in India. It will be based on Mahindra’s INGLO Born-electric platform.
It is likely to share its powertrains with the XEV 9e, which is offered with 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery pack options. The Mahindra XEV 9e is a rear-wheel-drive SUV, but the XEV 7e will have a dual-motor AWD set-up. The premium SUV will have all the features that are accessible in XEV 9e.
Mahindra had showcased the BE Rall-E concept in 2023. The company has started testing the SUV, and is reportedly to arrive in early next year. It comes with a ready-to-off-road attitude, which makes it different from the BE 6. It will be based on Mahindra’s skateboard platform, INGLO.
The electric SUV features a luggage rack, unique front fascia, and massive suspension travel. This off-road vehicle will come with all-terrain tyres. It will have a more rugged body cladding, raised ground clearance and solid bash plates. The SUV is likely to get a dual-motor AWD setup as standard fitment. The off-road focused EV is likely to get a 79kWh battery pack with dual-motor setup for AWD capabilities.
