VinFast VF6 and VF7 prices announced on 6 September VF6 expected around Rs 20-25 lakh, VF7 Rs 25-30 lakh Both SUVs locally produced in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu
Vietnamese EV maker VinFast is set to officially launch its first two models in India. After showcasing the cars at the Auto Expo earlier this year and opening its first showroom, the brand will reveal the prices of the VF6 and VF7 on 6 September 2025.
The company has already started opening dealerships across the country and plans to have 35 facilities by the end of the year. Both VF6 and VF7 can be pre-booked online for Rs 21,000.
VinFast VF6 is the smaller of the two SUVs and will enter the competitive midsize EV segment in India. It is powered by a 59.6kWh battery with a 204hp front motor. It offers a WLTP-rated range of 480km, though official ARAI numbers are yet to be announced.
The VF6 will compete with models like the Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Creta Electric. The VF6 is expected to be priced around Rs 20 lakh to 25 lakh (on-road).
VinFast VF7 is a larger SUV with more power and range. It comes with a 70.8kWh battery pack and will be available in 2WD and 4WD variants. The 2WD model has a 204hp front motor, while the AWD model adds a rear motor for a combined output of 350hp and 500Nm torque. The WLTP-rated range is 450km for the FWD and 431km for the AWD.
The VF7 will compete with the Mahindra XEV 9e and Tata Harrier EV. The VF7 is expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh to 30 lakh (on-road).
Both the VF6 and VF7 are assembled at VinFast’s Thoothukudi plant in Tamil Nadu. The factory has an annual production capacity of 50,000 units, which can be expanded to 1.5 lakh units per year.
The first car produced at the plant was the VF7, marking the start of VinFast’s India production journey.
Customers can pre-book the VF6 and VF7 online for Rs 21,000. The official price announcement and launch event are scheduled for 6 September 2025.
