Tata dispatched 65253 vehicles to dealerships in August 2026 Mahindra domestic passenger SUV volume stands at 59,257 units
Tata Motors has reported a strong monthly sales performance in August 2026, delivering 67,753 passenger vehicles across domestic and international markets. The homegrown passenger vehicle maker edge past Mahindra & Mahindra’s domestic passenger SUV volume of 59,257 units. Driven by good demand across its multi-powertrain portfolio - spanning petrol, diesel, iCNG, and electric powertrains - Tata registered a 56% YoY growth compared to August 2025.
Multi-powertrain flexibility: Models like the Punch and Nexon comes with twin-cylinder iCNG technology, which targets suburban commuters looking to lower daily running costs without sacrificing boot space.
EV Demand on Rise: Tata Motors has the longest list of electric vehicles in our market, which is evident from its sales numbers. Products like Punch EV, Nexon EV and Harrier EV, and recently launched Sierra EV have received an overwhelming response from buyers. These models also helped Tata bolster its overall passenger vehicle volume.
Pre-Festive Stocking: Dealers are building up their stocks ahead of the peak 2026 festive season, which also contributed to Tata’s strong wholesale dispatch momentum.
