The Japanese automaker, Toyota is gearing up to launch new cars in the Indian market including a 7-seater and an electric SUV. One of these is an Urban SUV concept-based e-SUV while the other one is a larger version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Both Toyota vehicles will be launched in 2025.
Let's have an overview of the expected design, features, and specifications for both SUVs.
Toyota aims to enter the EV segment with the introduction of an all-new electric SUV. It is expected to be launched in the second half of 2025. The upcoming Toyota e-SUV will be based on the Toyota Urban SUV concept. It will share Suzuki's 27PL skateboard platform with the Maruti Suzuki eVX, which is likely to be revealed in production form at Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025.
From the design perspective, the electric SUV will have a trapezoidal front bumper, larger air dams, sleek LED headlamps, and a thin LED strip running across the bonnet. Other exterior design elements include side skirts, squared-off wheel arches, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a connected LED setup with wraparound tail lights.
On the inside, the upcoming Toyota electric SUV is likely to feature the same cabin as the eVX. Some of its expected interior features include a dual-screen setup for a touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Toyota is yet to reveal specification details. However, we can expect it to get 48kWh and 60kWh battery packs, offering a range of 400 km and 500 km, respectively on a single charge.

Apart from an electric SUV, Toyota is likely to launch a 7-seater SUV in 2025. This 3-row SUV will be a larger version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and, thus, will be sharing similar design and features. It will be built on the modified Suzuki Global-C platform which underpins Hyryder and Grand Vitara. The Toyota SUV will be manufactured at the Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming production facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana.
The 7-seater Toyota SUV is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre K15C petrol with mild hybrid tech and a 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle with a strong hybrid system. The vehicle is likely to support an ADAS tech as well.
Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki and Honda are also working on their respective 7-seater SUVs to rival XUV700 and Safari by 2026-2027. Read Here For More Details
