Toyota Glanza facelift expected by October 2026 Gets new 1.2-litre petrol engine and CNG-AMT Could add Level 2 ADAS and more premium features
Toyota is preparing to give the Glanza a major update in India. The upcoming facelift is expected to bring changes to the hatchback’s design, features and powertrain, making it a more competitive option in the premium hatchback segment. The Toyota Glanza facelift is expected to launch by October 2026 and will continue to share its underpinnings with the Maruti Baleno. However, the updated model is likely to get its own styling and feature package.
The Glanza facelift is expected to receive a refreshed exterior with changes to the front and rear sections. The updates could include a redesigned grille, revised bumpers and updated lighting elements. The hatchback is also expected to get new alloy wheels and minor changes to its overall styling. These updates should give the Glanza a fresher look without changing its basic proportions.

One of the biggest changes to the Glanza will be under the bonnet. The current four-cylinder petrol engine is expected to be replaced by Maruti Suzuki’s newer 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine. The naturally aspirated engine produces 83hp and 112Nm of torque. It is expected to be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as a 5-speed AMT.
A factory-fitted CNG option is also expected. In CNG mode, the engine produces 70hp and 102Nm of torque. However, despite the title angle around hybrid tech, the Glanza is not expected to get a strong-hybrid powertrain. Its major powertrain update is the new petrol engine and CNG-AMT option.
The biggest technology addition expected on the Glanza facelift is Level 2 ADAS. This would make the hatchback one of the more feature-loaded models in its segment. Expected functions include autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and auto high beam assist. The exact features and their availability across variants will be confirmed closer to the launch.
Toyota is also expected to add several new comfort and convenience features. The Glanza facelift could get ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other expected additions include a head-up display and a 360-degree surround-view camera. These features should make the updated Glanza more premium and easier to use in everyday driving.
The Toyota Glanza facelift is expected to launch in India by October 2026. It will continue to compete with premium hatchbacks such as the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. While the facelift is expected to bring a new engine, CNG-AMT option, upgraded features and Level 2 ADAS, a strong-hybrid powertrain is not currently part of the Glanza update. More details about its variants and pricing are expected closer to the launch.
