Toyota Glanza facelift launch by October 2026 Next-gen Fortuner could debut by early 2027
Toyota is all set to introduce two of its most popular offerings with significant upgrades in the Indian market. Catering to opposite ends of the automotive spectrum, Toyota is preparing to launch the Glanza facelift and the highly-anticipated next-generation Fortuner. While the updated hatchback is expected to be launched by October 2026, the next-gen of the popular 3-row SUV is expected to be introduced towards the end of 2026 or early 2027 (around Bharat Mobility Global Expo).
Similar to the Baleno facelift, the Toyota Glanza will receive a mid-life update with cosmetic design and interior changes along with a new powertrain and a longer-list of features.
LEVEL 2 ADAS: the biggest upgrade is the inclusion of the LEVEL 2 ADAS, offering features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Auto High Beam Assist.
New Powertrain: Instead of the older 4-cylinder petrol engine, the Glanza facelift will get the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Z-Series petrol engine that is tuned for stronger low-end torque and higher fuel efficiency. This engine produces 83 hp and 112 Nm of torque, and is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. It will also get a factory-fitted CNG option. In the CNG mode, the power and torque output drops to 70hp and 102 Nm, respectively.
More Comfort Features: the Glanza facelift is now packed with features like ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, a 9-inch SmartPlay display, a Head-Up Display (HUD), and a 360-degree surround view camera.
The undisputed king of full-size SUVs, the Fortuner is preparing for its most radical generational update yet. Built on the updated, stiffer chassis for improved ride and comfort, the new Fortuner will come with modern tech and electrified power.
Aggressive Styling: the new Fortuner will adopt the brand’s new global design theme, which we have already seen on the latest Toyota Hilux. It will have a massive octagonal front grille, ultra-slim Matrix LED headlights, and a wider, bolder stance.
Engine Specs: it will be powered by the same 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, which improves low-end acceleration while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Modern Interiors: the next Fortuner will come with all-new cabin, featuring a dual 12.3-inch digital screens for infotainment and driver’s display, electronic parking brake, electric power steering, a panoramic sunroof, and Toyota Safety Sense (LEVEL 2 ADAS).
