The much-awaited test drives for the Mahindra XEV 9S will start in the first week of December 2025. This gives interested buyers the opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience the SUV firsthand before placing an order. Test driving the vehicle will help you make a well-informed decision before committing to a purchase.
If you’re ready to book the XEV 9S, Mahindra is offering two ways to secure your model: online or at a dealership.
Online Booking
To book your Mahindra XEV 9S online, simply visit Mahindra’s official website. On the booking page, you’ll be asked to select your preferred battery pack option, variant, and color. Afterward, choose your nearest dealership and proceed with the booking by paying the required deposit. You can lock in your preferences as early as December 14, 2025, ahead of the official booking date of January 14, 2026.
Dealership Booking
For those who prefer to check out the XEV 9S in person, you can also book the vehicle directly at your nearest Mahindra dealership. After taking a test drive, you can follow the same steps as the online process to complete your booking.

Once you’ve successfully booked your Mahindra XEV 9S, deliveries are expected to begin on January 23, 2026. As the demand for this new electric SUV is expected to be high, it’s advisable to place your order as soon as possible to secure your spot in the first batch of deliveries. Keep in mind that the waiting period could increase as the model gains popularity.

Mahindra XEV 9S shares design features with the XUV700 but adds electric-specific elements. The front has sleek LED DRLs, a closed grille, and an illuminated Mahindra logo for a bold look. The side features 18-inch aerodynamic wheels and flush door handles, while the rear has redesigned tail lamps for a sleek finish.
Inside, the XEV 9S offers a tech-forward cabin with beige and olive accents. The dashboard has three 12.3-inch screens, including a touchscreen, a digital driver display, and a front passenger display. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and a wireless charger.
For safety, the XEV 9S includes seven airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.
Mahindra XEV 9S offers three battery options - 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh. Power ranges from 231 PS to 286 PS, with a torque of 380 Nm. Depending on the battery, the range is between 521 km to 679 km, with a real-world range of around 400 km to 550 km.
Mahindra XEV 9S enters the market with no direct competitors at its price point, offering a unique 7-seater electric SUV option. While it doesn’t have direct rivals in the same segment, it competes with other electric vehicles like the Tata Harrier EV, Kia Carens Clavis EV, and BYD eMAX7, which are also exploring the 7-seater electric SUV market.
