BMW India has just launched the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition in the Indian market at an introductory price Rs 46 lakh (ex-showroom). Locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the vehicle is exclusively available in petrol variants at the BMW Online shop.
Up front, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition features a kidney grille in Cerium Grey, creating an exceptional sporty character of the vehicle. The ORVMs and fog lamp inserts are also finished in Cerium Grey, adding a more dramatic touch to the vehicle. Besides, there are full-LED headlights and full-LED tail lights extending the width of the rear end.
Inside, the cabin features M Performance Door Pin, M Performance Alcantara Gear Selector, and M Performance Door projector. Additionally, it features a driver-focused layout with BMW Sport Seats, a large panoramic glass sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, cruise control, and dual 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and driver.
The 2023 BMW 2 Series M Performance edition comes with only a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine has the capacity of making 179 bhp and 280Nm and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 7.1 seconds.
In terms of safety, BMW provides a range of safety features for the M performance edition. These include six airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, Attentiveness Assistance, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Electronic Vehicle Immobilizer, and ISOFIX Child Seat Mounting.
With the pricing of Rs 46 lakh (ex-showroom), the M Performance Edition costs Rs 50,000 more than its 220i M Sport Pro and 22d M Sport trims. It competes against Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine (Rs 45.80 lakh).
