Mahindra's electric vehicle models, the BE 6 and XEV 9e, have attained 5-star ratings from BNCAP for safety. Such ratings confirm the strength of the protection provided for adult and child passengers in the two models. The BE 6 and XEV 9e were tested in accordance with AIS-197 by an authorized crash test agency.
The 5-star ratings of the cars demonstrate the ability of the vehicles to protect the passengers in various crash scenarios. With advanced safety features, the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e are excellent choices for consumers who want to prioritize their vehicle's safety.
Mahindra BE 6 is a 2025 SUV model that achieved a spectacular score in safety tests. It scored 31.97 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 45.00 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection. BE 6 is a two-row SUV with the gross weight at 2415 kg. This two-row SUV is also equipped with the new safety features in it. In addition, for the front seats, there is provision of the airbags with pretensioners and a knee airbag for the driver. For side impact protection, it had side head curtain airbags, thorax airbags, and side pelvis airbags.
For child safety, the BE 6 includes ISOFIX for the safe installation of child seats. The vehicle is designed with CRS and an airbag cut-off switch. All the variants of the BE 6 carry these three features. The BE 6 passed crash tests with flying colors, as it scored 15.97 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a perfect 16.00 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test.
Another 2025 model, the Mahindra XEV 9e, also achieved 5-star ratings in both the AOP and the COP. The car itself attained a flawless 32.00/32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 45.00/49 for Child Occupant Protection. There are 16.00 points out of 16 for both frontal offset deformable barrier tests and side movable deformable barrier tests, with excellent crashworthiness performance.
As in the case of the BE 6, the XEV 9e is equipped with very important safety features, such as airbags, pretensioned seat belts, and side-impact airbags. It is also fitted with ISOFIX for the installation of a child seat and offers rear-facing seat variants for younger children. For testing, the child restraint system was the Britax Romer DUALFIX PRO, which scored maximum on both front and side impacts.
