Tata Motors will unveil the Harrier AWD EV and the Sierra (EV/ICE) at the Auto Expo 2025 tomorrow. These models will be showcased in their production-ready form, a big step for Tata's electric mobility journey. The Harrier EV will roll off the line in March 2025, and the Sierra, in both electric and ICE variants, will follow in the second half of 2025. The company will also launch other green technologies, including flex fuel and CNG, besides special editions and concepts.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 will going to take place from January 17 to 22 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Let's explore what Tata will bring in this event:
The Harrier EV will be built on the same Acti.ev platform which also underpin the Punch EV and Curvv EV. It will come with FWD, RWD, and all-wheel drive options. The Harrier EV will be offered with a 75kWh battery and a dual-motor. The range will be up to 600km. It will support 150kW DC fast charging, and 11kW AC charging.
The design of the Harrier EV will be the same as the regular Harrier but with changes like a closed front grille and special alloy wheels. It will feature a 10-speaker JBL audio system, connected car technology, ADAS, seven airbags, electronic stability control coupled with a driver alert system, hill descent control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, a powered front passenger seat with ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and an air purifier. Specialty of this car is that, higher trims will attract features like V2L, V2V, terrain response, and rear independent suspension.
The electric and the ICE versions of the Tata Sierra SUV will also be showcased. The electric one will be based on Acti.ev platform, and ICE version will be on ATLAS. Information regarding the electric one is still not fully announced, but it is supposed to come in single and dual-motor options. The electric Sierra is supposed to offer a range higher than 500 km. The Tata Sierra ICE will likely come in 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel unit. The 1.5-litre gasoline engine will deliver 170 bhp and 280 Nm of torque.
Key highlights of the concept version will include large rear quarter glass, roof rails, and a closed front grille on the Tata Sierra. It will feature well-sculpted wheel arches, trapezoidal headlamps, and full-width LED taillights.
Inside, the Sierra will have a very modern design. There will be flat-bottom steering wheel, touch infotainment, digital instrument cluster, and ambient lighting. A 4-seater lounge version could also be available, featuring rear seats adjustable in terms of their position and also having an ottoman function. Each seat can also feature individual entertainment displays for passengers.
