The Citroen Basalt X has finally been launched at a starting price of Rs 7.95 lakh, (ex-showroom, introductory). The company has added several new features to its top-spec Max trim level, and drops prices across the range. Interested buyers can book the new Basalt X online or at authorised Citroen dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.
Citroen has significantly reduced the prices of the Basalt line-up, as the new Basalt X Max trim receive a price reduction of around Rs 97,000. It is now priced at Rs 12.90 lakh, which is 97,000 cheaper. The starting price of the Coupe SUV has been dropped by Rs 37,000.
The Citroen Basalt X is available in 3 trim levels - You, Plus and Max. The You variant is tagged at Rs 7.95 lakh, while the Plus trim is available in the price bracket of Rs 9.42 lakh to Rs 12.07 lakh. The top-spec Max is priced between Rs 11.63 lakh and Rs 12.90 lakh.
Customers will have to pay another Rs 25,000 to get a 360-degree surround view camera. For dual-tone roof finish, Citroen is charging Rs 21,000 extra.
- The Citroen Basalt X has not received significant design changes, but the company has added a new ‘X’ emblem on the tailgate.
- It comes with new interior colour scheme, upholstery and new trim.
- There are slanted pattern imprints on the dashboard, and bronze-coloured trim pieces.
- The Basalt X gets a new tan-and-black upholstery, while the dashboard is wrapped in leatherette. These changes give it a more premium feel.
The top-spec model comes with the “Cara”, which is the brand’s new in-car conversational assistant. This can perform multiple functions such as real-time flight status tracking, traffic and route optimisation, vehicle health status updates, multimedia support, smart reminders, calling and SOS and others. However, this Citroen-developed in-car assistant system, CARA is available with the Basalt X Max automatic variants.
Other features include ventilated front seats, keyless entry, cruise control, white ambient lighting, an auto-dimming IRVM, an optional 360-degree camera and push-button start/stop system.
The Citroen Basalt X is available with two engine choices - an 82hp, 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol and a 110hp, 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol. The base variant is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo petrol engine is available with two gearbox choices - a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
