Honda has officially confirmed that the Honda 0 α (Alpha) electric SUV will launch in India in 2027. The model was showcased at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show as part of Honda’s new lineup of electric vehicles under the Honda 0 Series range.
The 0 α will serve as the entry model in the Honda 0 electric family. It has been developed for buyers who want a practical EV that is comfortable to use in daily city driving, but also capable enough for weekends and outdoor trips.

Honda has developed the 0 α with a design approach called “Thin, Light, and Wise.” This focuses on a slimmer overall structure, reduced body weight for better efficiency, and smart technology built into the vehicle. The result is an SUV that looks futuristic and is designed to be efficient and intelligent in everyday use.

The Honda 0 α features a low-slung profile with smooth surfaces and a wide stance. The front gets a single connected digital panel where the headlights, illuminated Honda logo and charging port cover blend together. At the rear, a U-shaped LED light bar stretches across the tailgate, creating a distinctive look even from a distance. Dual-tone wheels and bold wheel arch cladding add to its visual presence without making the design look overly aggressive.
Honda is expected to offer the 0 α in two battery pack options. The driving range is targeted to be above 500 km on a single charge, making it suitable for both daily commutes and long journeys. More specific powertrain details are expected closer to launch.
In India, the Honda 0 α is likely to compete with upcoming electric SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra XUV.e8, Hyundai Creta EV and the next-generation MG ZS EV. The model is expected to be positioned in the midsize electric SUV segment.
Honda has confirmed that the production version of the 0 α will go on sale globally in 2027, with India listed among the first markets. More details related to features, variants and pricing are expected to be revealed nearer to its market introduction.
