Honda to Launch Elevate facelift and 0 Alpha EV this fiscal Honda is developing new 7-seater and sub-4 meter SUVs
In a bid to regain lost market share, Honda Cars India is preparing for a major product offensive in 2026 and 2027. Moving beyond its current line-up of the City, Amaze and Elevate, the Japanese automaker is diversifying its strategy to include dedicated electric vehicles (EVs), strong hybrid vehicles and niche performance imports. The company has recently introduced the ZR-V Hybrid as a fully-imported model.
Here is a breakdown of the key Honda cars heading to Indian roads over the next 18 months:
Honda Cars India will give a mid-life update to the Elevate midsize SUV during this festive season. The SUV is expected to receive updated front and rear styling with new bumpers, revised grille and updated lighting system. It is also expected to get new features like a 360-degree surround view camera and ventilated front seats. The Honda Elevate facelift will continue to be offered with the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine with manual and a CVT automatic unit.

The 0 Alpha will be Honda’s ground-up EV in the mass market segment. Designed on Honda’s dedicated EV platform, the new electric SUV will be manufactured locally in India. The Honda 0 Alpha EV is currently undergoing active road testing.
It is expected to be offered with two battery packs, ranging from 50 to 70 kWh delivering up to 500 km of driving range. The SUV’s cabin features a digital layout, heads-up display (HUD), a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, and ADAS tech. It will be positioned against the likes of the Tata Sierra EV, Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE 6 and Maruti e Vitara.

Honda is planning to introduce the iconic Prelude nameplate as a halo product for car enthusiasts in the Indian market. It is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to Honda’s two-motor hybrid system, producing 200 PS and 315 Nm of torque. The new Honda Prelude uses chassis technology derived from the Civic Type R alongside an S+ Shift system that simulates gear shifts for an engaging driving feel.
Honda is developing a 3-row 7-seater SUV, which will be positioned above the Elevate in its India lineup. The new SUV will be based on the brand’s new PF2 architecture, which is compatible with both EV and hybrid powertrains. It will be positioned against the likes of the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari and the upcoming Renault Bigster. The new Honda 3-row SUV is expected to be offered with a 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5L e:HEV strong hybrid engine.
Honda has confirmed that it will introduce a new sub-4 meter SUV, which will utilise the PF2 architecture. The new compact SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza and others in its category. It is expected to be offered with a 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Honda could also introduce the strong hybrid version of the sub-4 meter SUV.
Following the release of the Honda ZR-V Hybrid SUV, Honda is utilising import routes to bring select global models to Indian showrooms. The company is currently evaluating its globally popular nameplates, including the Civic, Accord and CR-V hybrid for the Indian market.
