Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV launching this financial year. Honda ZR-V SUV will come with a 2.0L strong hybrid powertrain.
Honda Cars India has confirmed the launch of an all-new electric SUV launch in the current financial year – the Honda 0 Alpha. The EV was first showcased at the Japan Mobility Show in 2025, and its production-ready version is expected to debut around the 2026 Bharat Mobility Show in February. The 0 Alpha SUV is currently undergoing testing across different Indian driving and climate conditions. The electric SUV will be manufactured at the Tapukara facility in Rajasthan.
The production-ready Honda 0 Alpha is expected to remain largely true to the concept model. The EV will feature a boxy stance with a rectangular grille with integrated headlamps, sporty front and rear bumpers, squared-off wheel arch cladding, aero-optimized alloy wheels, high-mounted vertical taillamps and an upright tailgate.
Spy shots suggest that the new Honda electric SUV will feature a scooped dashboard with a large integrated touchscreen infotainment system and a driver’s display. The centre console will house multiple control buttons for functions such as ventilated seats, climate control and more. Honda has also confirmed that the 0 Alpha EV will have a wheelbase of around 2,700mm – 2,800mm.
Powertrain specifications are yet to be revealed. However, the Honda 0 Alpha EV is expected to be offered with two lithium-iron phosphate battery pack options, with capacities ranging between 65kWh – 75kWh.
In the midsize EV segment, the Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV will face challenge from the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, MG ZS EV, Tata Sierra EV and Toyota Urban Cruiser E-bella. It would be quite early to comment on its pricing; however, considering its positioning the EV is expected to be priced from around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
Meanwhile, Honda Cars India is set to launch the ZR-V hybrid SUV with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a dual-motor strong-hybrid system. It delivers a combined power output of 184bhp and 315Nm of torque.
The hybrid SUV comes with an e-CVT sending power to the front wheels (FWD). The Honda ZR-V is claimed to accelerate 0-100kph in 8 seconds and offer a top speed of 172kph. It offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.79kmpl.
